I recently had the opportunity to do something a little bit different from my usual bridal/pageant scene. Don’t get me wrong I love both of these Beauty industries, but sometimes it is just so fun to just take a break from the norm and do something a little bit more creative!! I have really formed a niche within beauty look makeup application, which I love, but as a makeup artist I rarely have the opportunity to truly practice my art! I was so excited when Kim DuBois of Halo Salon in NODA wanted to do a high fashion editioral piece for her marketing materials!! I did a very intense smoky eye on her which looked amazing against her piercing blue eyes!! I was also able to do her gorgeous daughter Elle’s makeup too, as she was representing the client. We really went more edgy on her with a dramatic winged out liner on both top and bottom! I have to mention that both ladies had the BEST skin so the makeup really looked soo good and creamy. The finished product will be in Black & White so I really just did a neutral/shear lip color on both ladies.
TIP: If you put a highly pigmented lipstick on for a black & white photo it will translate into looking like you have black lips!!!
I really enjoyed working with both of these gorgeous gals. Along with great skin, they had really great hair too. Did I mention that Kim is a hair stylist?! I just might have to pay her a visit for my next cut/color!Stay tuned for the finished promotional product for Kim DuBois!!
